Struggling with managing screen time? We’ve got simple tips to help you create a healthy balance at home, so your child can enjoy technology responsibly without missing out on other activities.
Managing screen time is a common topic for parents, and finding the right balance is key. At our clubs, we encourage active, hands-on play—and we’d like to share some practical ways to help you manage screen time at home, too:
- Create Tech-Free Zones: Designate rooms, like the dining area, as “tech-free zones” to encourage screen-free family time. This helps kids understand that not every activity needs a screen.
- Introduce Fun Alternatives: Encourage creative activities as alternatives, such as reading or crafting. When kids have other options, screen time naturally reduces.
- Set a Routine: Make screen time part of a balanced schedule. Kids appreciate knowing when they can look forward to screens, and when it’s time to put them away.
With these screen time strategies, you can create a routine that allows for screen time while prioritizing other interests. A balanced approach makes screen time enjoyable and purposeful!
